Breastmilk vs. Formula Debate

Would you be more comfortable with supplementing if human breast milk (HBM) was available in a can, available on any store shelf - at an equivalent price to formula?

If you were BFing, but needed to supplement occasionally, would you pick the formula or the HBM in a can?

If you decided not to BF yourself or were unable to BF, would you pick the formula or the HBM in a can to feed your baby?

If you would choose the formula, would you consider buying the HBM in a can when your baby was sick, if it boasted natural immunities, healing, etc?

Absolutely, no-brainer. I'd pick the HBM infant formula over a cow's milk based formula.

Cow's milk is not really a good match for our species, even after it's tweaked. The proteins are off, the oils are off, etc.

The equivalent cost plays a role in my opinion, too. ;)

If I ever needed to supplement and HBM in a can was available and priced like formula, I'd definitely go with the HBM in a can.

That's thought-provoking...although it probably wouldn't stop me from using it if I needed to supplement.
