I meant to post this last night - you broke your ankles???? Did you post that somewhere else and I missed it? That must be awful. When did it happen and how? How are you managing daily life with broken ankles? I can't imagine how challenging (and painful) that must be.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. It's been crazy & I have thoughts on my post too but not sure when I'll get to them.

Long story short: Tues Oct 20 in the AM fell down the stairs from the laundry room to the garage. About 4 steps total. Not sure if I missed one or stepped on one weird. Kids were all in car ready to go to school. Paramedics came, trip to ER. Surgery the next day on both, plates & screws. Hospital for 5 days. Been home one week. Splints removed last Thurs. now in below knee cast for 3 weeks. Hopefully will get walking boots/walker right before Thanksgiving. No driving until January.

Pain is really not bad. Cobbled together drop/pick for kids for school & activities. All in all about a dozen friends driving to/from different things. MIL here now, my mom coming next week.

It sucks, but could have been so much worse. My bones will heal, I'll walk again & no one died. This I'll manage thru.

Andi

Wow and OMG. That must have been so scary when it happened and before/after the surgery, not to mention the difficulty in running your life without you there doing it all. Glad you have such a good support network around you (sometimes things like this show you how good your support network is).

Whenever you feel like getting back to that post, I'll be around, no rush :)
