Hi!
my baby is 2 weeks old. yesterday i noticed pain starting in one breast. it seems to come from one spot where a mass has formed that wasnt there before, this morning i see stretch marks by the spot! theres no additional pain at let down, just all over soreness when i brush up against the breast or hold it to feed him. i dont have a fever, the spots not red, is this a block duct?

editing to add: I just pumped that side after he nursed and got 1.5 ounces in a few minutes, (there was more but he woke up) and it feels so much softer and better.

It does sound like it might have been the beginning of a plugged duct. It sounds like the pumping resolved the problem for you, hopefully.

Phew! I'm glad it cleared up.  Definitely sounded like a duct getting clogged.  If it happens again just do what you did.  Nurse, pump, hand express, repeat.  I found hand expressing in a hot shower really helped.
