Hope this isn't too dramatic, but to me, the worst part of diabetes is knowing that it is forever.  My DH has had it for over 30 years, DS for over 8 -- they are both healthy and very accepting of diabetes and I know that there are far worse diseases.......  BUT I hate that it is never going to go away.

I agree.. knowing this isn't something that can be cured (as of right now).. there is no magic pill, no special treatments.. it is what it is.. that, until a cure is found, this is the way their lives will be..
