As I put in my last post the boys ped is having us monitor their bg levels until we see the endo next month.  Caleb and Nick are starting their asthma meds Pulmicort x2 daily and Xoponex as needed, the Pulmicort is a steroid.  I was wondering if this will affect their bg?  I didn't think to ask the pulmo doc but I did call for a call back but they can take up to 2 days to return a call if it isn't an emergency.  Does anyone know if I should just stop checking b/c it will raise their bg and I won't know if it's from their meds or for real?  Hoping to hear back from the doc today but I figured I'd ask parents who know from their own experience.  Thanks!

yes, steriods will raise your bg.. my sister, who is not D.. had a reading of 299 one day.. I was freaking out, and then realized she was taking steriods for strep throat.. also being stick can raise bg.. I don't know how much the steriods will raise a non-d person's bg thought..
