Kaylee's been pumping since 7/06.. she currently is using a PINK minimed 522, she also uses the minilink cgms. Her warrently is up in 2010, most likely we'll go with Minimed again... they've been a great company, suppose to be coming out with a new pump with smaller basal rates and bolus capabilities.. If MM's new pump isn't released by 6/10, I may seriously consider the Ping.. there are a few things I'm not to fond of with the ping though.

We don't have a pump yet.  We go to the class in Dec (after 6 month waiting list), so I am interested in what are people's opinions as we know nothing.  I assume that insurance doesn't drive the choice of pump, just that they cover it to whatever extent.

With our insurance, minimed was 'in network' and all the others were out of network, so it was a difference of the insurance paying 90% or 80%.. but they would have covered any of the pumps.. some insurances give a hard time approving the omnipod.. its because its newer than all the others.. but with an appeal there usually isn't any problem.

That is good to know.  I called the insurance when I was getting ready to do my flex spending thing for this year and they just said they paid 80%.  I hope that the people at clinic will be able to guide us a little bit, if there are certain ones that are covered more fully than others.  I am anxious to find out about the various pumps and the pro's and  con's for them all.  Thanks for sharing your info.
