I only have 2 tips:
1) Arrive at park opening. Many people don't, so you will be able to ride a lot of rides quickly in the 2-3 hours before the park fills up.
2) Use FastPass as much as you can. When you arrive, grab a FastPass to a ride. You can ride that ride now if you want and the line is short, otherwise, come back to it later. (Oh - and if you're not riding now, just send ONE person to grab the FastPasses with everyone's tickets!) You can use the FastPass at the printed window on the ticket or anytime after that on the same day. You can grab another FastPass when the ride window opens (or sometimes earlier if it's a late return time - time will be printed on FastPass). Just keep grabbing them when you can. If you're about to go to lunch and it's time to grab a FastPass, take a couple of minutes to grab one first.
One other thing - you can have FastPasses for California Adventure and DL at that same time, because the computer systems aren't linked. If you're planning on going back and forth between the parks, you can send ONE person over with everyone's tickets to get a FastPass if you want. (Even though only one person enters the park, he can still use everyone's tickets for FP.)
Have a great time and try to enjoy the parks, even if they're crowded!
