I am so up in the air about whether we should add this to our trip.  Is it really worth the extra money?  What extra things are included that we won't see when MK is open to the public?

I say ABSOLUTELY YES....but only if your family can stay up late.  If you have little ones who can't handle midnight (or big ones, I suppose!), I'm not sure you'll get your money's worth. We are considering a trip the second week of December and will likely hit the party twice.

When we go to MVMCP, we get to the park at 4 pm and stay until the end of the party.  We sleep in that day and take it easy so it's no problem staying up.  We don't get park hopper passes, so for us it's not an issue financially.  We just buy the party tickets vs. regular park tickets for the day.

If you haven't seen this, here are the special events during the party:

I enjoy the shows and the parade, but we've not seen the lights on the castle yet....but it looks pretty great in pictures.

If you opt out  this time, don't worry....there is plenty of holiday cheer outside the party.  :)

We went to MVMCP last year, enjoyed it so much we bought tickets to two nights this year.   But everyone is different.

It is less crowded.  The Parade is pretty neat - with marching soilders.   The castle lit up.   The decorations.    It was just a very merry mood maker for us.

From what I understand - these are things the general public can see for free closer to Christmas.   But prior to that - are only available during the parties.
