Scrapbook Central welcomes you...
It must be a shock to hear your home is closing. I just received the e-mail yesterday, and I know Kellye has just posted the notice, but we (cl-michellejeanne aka MJ, cl-melissasue77 aka Missy and the rest of the board) wanted to make sure you knew you were welcome!
Scrapbook Central
Scrap Central Welome & FAQ Page Lingo, lists of fave online stores, swap rules & current swaps, how to's for beginners...
Tuesday Scrap Central Chat 10 p.m. EST, 9 CST (a mix of scrapbook chatting, goofiness and everyday chatting)
We have had a number of new members posting lately, so don't worry about fitting right in or looking conspicuous :). Yes, there ARE those of us who post quite frequently, lurkers who rarely post, and some who come & go, so don't feel like you have to read or respond to everthing or do every challenge if we're a bit faster than you prefer. We're just trying to get pages done!
We have several folders: Looks overwhelming cause I typed long explanations but just thought to let you know what was happening in each so it makes more sense:).
- Scrappy Talk - anything scrappy - questions, packing for crops, new product comparisons, how to do a technique, post, use a product...you name it.
- New/Delurking & Roll Calls - introduce yourself. We were planning a silly get to know board members game in a week even before we knew of the merge. Come play!
- Check it Out/Submission calls - post sales such as Sizzix, Michaels, fave web store coupon codes & sales, new products, goofy stuff, CHA links here - it's ok as long as you are not selling or promoting the product or site. We do delete spam. A few of our members do submit for publication, so occassionally you'll see a call posted here too.
- Show us Your Work - post your LO's here, you'll be sure to get praise. Post in your message, a photobucket type site with link or on a gallery somewhere and post the link in your message. It's ok to post at a gallery as long as you aren't linking to a MB or promoting the site. Just post your link and leave it at that so we can keep the privledge awarded to our previous cl's many moons ago.
- Challenges: A new thing, Challenges will be updated a few a week. Feel free to post your own challenge. Kalea13, a long time member who made ME feel welcome way back when, posts a monthly Sketch & ad challenge, keeps a website so you can easily compare what you did, or look back to find inspiration or a sketch. Find a link in Karen's August post. We also have a new MMUMS (Make Me Use MY Stuff) challenge that has been really fun and helpful for some of us to both get pages done AND use some of our stash. . Just post 10 things from your stash that you want (or need) to use, or even already have an idea for. Someone will challenge you to use one. Once you have completed your LO using that item, then you can challenge another person to use one of their items and post your revised list. Works for getting journalling done, or finishing album pages... Note: This folder used to be swaps & swaps ideas until recently. We just haven't had much swaps activity in the past 18-24 months, and after discussion & a board poll realized that most of us preferred to get pages done rather than spending time on swaps and getting stuff we may or may not use. Now, that doesn't mean swaps can't happen! Once approved they will be posted in this folder or under Scrappy Talk. The previous longtime cls' had to set up guidleines that worked very well after a few flakers messed things up, so check out the guidelines and e-mail your swap ideas! Welcome & FAQ page
- RAKs and PIF Raks: Rak is Random Act of Kindness and PIF stands for Pay It Forward. Great place to get rid of something you no longer will use, have used a million times, are sick of, purchased a thousand years ago and it's no longer your style, ugly PP the MIL gave you for Christmas sort of stuff. Post what you want to give away and who you want to give it to (first person to post, 3rd person to e-mail you, whoever correctly answer a question you ask, random drawing from all who post within a week - it's up to you). Pay it Forward just means that the person who accepts your RAK MUST post a RAK themselves within a few weeks. Could be out of their stash or something new. Folder goes nuts when we have a board party.
- Not SO Scrappy Talk: Just that. Life stuff. Usually the first person who cares that day starts the daily post where we discuss our days, irritations, work, kids... a great way for those of us who have met in person to keep in touch, to get to know those on the board, or get support when you need it.
Now - come check us out - we're looking forward to meeting you and hope you'll post pages now & then to inspire us! MJ & Missy Michelle, mom to Natasha, Sarah Grace & Mira 2006 Goals: Reach my old post count (2601) finish a few albums, get published, and learn more about my camera!
Scrapbook Central Come play with us! Ask questions, give answers, or just chat and have fun!
