What do you think of the celebrity moms who have a baby and are back on the red carpet in weeks?  Do these unrealistic expectations have any effect on your self-image post-baby?

Check out this article and let me know what you think!  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26081703/

I saw this article. For me, I don't think it affects how I feel about my weight. I know it will take a while to get rid of it since I don't have a personal trainer, dietician, cook, etc. on staff. I do think it sets up ridiculous expectations of what a women should look like right after having a baby, though. I think if I were younger, I might feel more pressure, but being older, I have gained some perspective. Doesn't mean I don't want to get back in shape, but I know it will happen eventually.

I read the gossip magazines all the time, so I do sometimes get upset when I see these celebrity moms post baby bodies but I know that it is not realistic for the rest of us.  I think I look okay for having had a baby. I won't be showing off in a bikini any time soon but I'm at a normal weight although I wouldn't mind taking off another ten pounds.  I just don't have the time to even go to the gym though between working full-time and chasing after a one year old when I'm home.

Its true what the article said, these women have personal trainers, cooks and nannies to watch their babies while they are getting their figures back. I'm lucky to get someone to watch my son while I'm working, let alone "getting in shape". Another thing that we have to remember though is that these women make their money by looking perfect whether they are models, actresses, singers, etc. They are held to much higher standards and frankly, I'm glad that I don't have that kind of pressure on me.
