(Same as Bottlefeeding board.)

I currently use Playtex Ventaire. I don't like them. They leak sometimes. There are 6 parts to wash. My walmart only has slow nipples, which are too slow; and fast nipples, which are too fast. And I can't use them in a bottle warmer for BM.

I want a simple, wide-mouth plastic bottle for minimum cost that is BPA free and reasonably priced.

I read the Baby Bottle Review post but all but one of those bottles has many pieces and the one that doesn't (Born Free) is really expensive.

I would also like a few flow rate choices for nipples.

What to do???

THX~

go for evenflo comfort grip... i think we spent 10$ for a set of 3 at our wal-mart.  there's only three parts (bottle, nipple, and ring that holds nipple.) there are three nipple flow awailable. no bpa either...they have the same bend in them as the other bottles (reduces gas and colic) and are dish washer safe (so bottle warmers probably are safe too), we switched from the ventiaire for the same reason and the measure lines came off after washing them everyday.

I used the ones with the drop in liners. Very nice. Easy to clean. just take the bag out and wash the bottle down and nipple. The nipple is wide so it is easy to go back and forth from bf. I didn't bf but they said it was good if you bf on the pack. The liners are really not that bad in price. I got the bags from toysrus. You can also get a big box for not a bad price at target in the target brand. I am not sure if you have eighter of those stores near you. I sure there is a store that would have it for a good price. I would price check around. The bottles are not pricey eighter. What I loved about these were that you could push all the air out of the bag and hold it with you fingers so it didn't fill back up and stick it in her mouth and let go of the bag and she didn't get a upset stomach. She has reflux and this was the only bottle that helped her from spitting up.

There's a soothie-nipple widemouth bottle that we used early on that worked well (by First Years) and it too is just the bottle, nipple and ring (and lid). We ended up needing to use bottles that combated air intake, so we were stuck with born free and Dr Browns with all their parts, so I'm not sure how many flows it has, but I don't recall seeing many bottles that didn't have 3 or 4 flows (or more).

Good luck!

I went through 8 different bottle types in the first 2 mo after my daughter was born.  I had problems with gas and burping.  Nuk nipples were so small and slow it would take forever.  Born free I tried because I heard so many great things, but the flow was so fast she ended up with terrible stomach ache.  Same went for the Gerber glass bottles.  The airvente was doable but the nipples are very flimsy and would bend over and she would play with the nipple with her tongue, and yes it leaked for me too.  There were a few more that came and went including the Playtex bag system which I just didn't like to work with.

I started out with First year Breastflow with great intentions.  In error someone purchased First year Soothie brand.  The Breastflow didn't work, and many parts, but the Soothie ones really seemed to work.  Very simple, wide neck, the flow is perfect BPA Free and you can buy 3 for $9.60 at Kohl's.  You can also find them at Walmart I believe.  I will note that the ones' that someone gave me I didn't realize until a month later that they were the 2nd Stage nipples.  I have 2nd stage and 1st stage.  Believe it or not she is ok with either one.  Still slower than the Born free and Gerber 1st stage nipples.
