So here is my birth story this week about my little girl. I'm so glad we didn't find out the gender ahead of time. It was so amazing and shocking to see it was a girl!
Quick story: Caitlin Shea born 7/21, 4:26pm, 7lbs 14oz, 19.5"
Longer version:
I was overdue (NEVER been over due with the boys. 1 day early, 14 days early, 9 days early) so was already antsy to have this one!
Went in Monday night around 8pm, kept having contractions every 3-5 min. And figured come on, I'm 40w2d will they really send me home? LOL. So my mom came over to spend the night before her big meeting on Tue. Knew Tue would be a bad day for having baby but what can you do? EVERYONE in my family had important stuff that day. So was stessful.
Was contracting ever 3-5 min like I said, at the hospital, but still 2cm. Grrrr.... so what do they do STUPID iv to stop contractions. Grrr.... why not just give me pitocin and get going????? So of course, they slow down. I was about to cry. One of docs came in at 11pm and said he'll keep me and just induce in the morning cuz going to do it Thu anyways. YEAH I get baby, Bad cuz who is going to watch the kids on Tue?????
So my future sil says she will watch the boys, Dh got out of his meeting, my mom in all day meeting, Dad in meeting, MIL in meeting. Yeah day of meetings!
So they start pit at 6am, doing nothing, doc breaks water 8:45, does nothing. Ugh, I went like 2cm in hours. Doc thought I would FLY!!! This was a STUBBORN baby! by 11:30 my future SIL calls to say she's sick and threw up. WHAT????? So I call my my crying. What can I do??? I'm in labor (SLOW labor too!), she stays cuz my MIL is suppose to be there by 2.
3pm comes, call Future SIL, NO MIL. WTF!!! AND nurse checks me 6!!! Double WTF! I was bawling again! What do with kids, where's MIL, when is baby EVER going to come??
I sit up trying to bring baby down, in 50 min I felt major pain/pressure (I did have epi though). So have them check 9 almost 10. Then found out MIL got there. So whew, get baby out NOW!!!
So few practice pushes around 4:15 and had to stop cuz pushing baby out too quick and no doc yet. LOL. So nurse runs gets doctor, few pushes (seriously could have pushed her out in min flat, LOL) went slow to minimize tearing. And less then 5 min later....
We both look down to see GIRL!! OMG OMG OMG!!! Seriously doc had to show us several times! LOL. It was amazing and worth all the drama and waiting she's already put us through. Here's some pictures. I have to say it's been SOOOO weird to dress a baby in pink. LOL.
