He is 13 and a good student. I have noticed that he has been interested in women's lingerie (mostly mine but sometimes his sister's)

It has started about a year ago- I would find catalogs (Lands End, Macys flyers, and especally the one hanes place in his room or in the bathroom.

But recently (started in summer) he has taken my underpants and pantyhose from the laundry. Either out of the hamper or just washed.

NOW I have found a pair of undies that are not mine nor my daughter's. Too big for a girl in school.... Maybe a friend's mom from her hamper?

Is this strange? Please reply as I don't know if I should discuss this with him, talk to the pediatrician, or just leave it alone.

Anyone have this in their family?

Thanks

Barb

Well, sounds like he is just about the right age for this to be happening. My son is not that old yet, but I could offer a suggestion. I think I might mention it to him. He will be very embarrassed, I'm sure. Maybe don't mention why he wants those things, but let him know that taking thing that are not his is not ok.

thanks-- we actually had a family " don't get in others' stuff" conversation recently... After My and DH nightstands were rummaged through.

Yes you got it-- a sexy Babydoll---- I SERIOUSLY forgot it was even in there... It was seriously under utilized in over a year and a half:(

Vibrator, lube and condoms were all there Sigh.....

Thanks again

I most certainly would talk to him about it.  Talk to him about what he's feeling, and let him know that it's normal!  I would give him some appropriate ways to deal with his feelings.  I would also discuss that what's inappropriate (taking women's underwear, rumaging through other people's property, etc), and appropriate ways to talk to and about women.  This is a perfect opportunity to help your ds mature into a responsible young man.  :o)

Hi, Barb and welcome to the board!  I agree with the other ones that a serious talk is in order.  It may be better taken if your DH talks to him..man to man. Maybe even let your DH go into some BTDT details, kwim...we as women really don't get the full effect of puberty on a boy.  And then of course the 'we don't take others stuff' talk could come last.  I'm glad you stopped by, and I hope to get to know you and your family better!
