Okay, I could have sworn Sue posted a "Roll Call" thread earlier, but I don't see it now.  Since the board merger is supposed to be taking place today, I thought I'd make a central location for all our intros.  I look forward to getting to know everyone, old and new (or, rather, new to me!).

Let's do, name, kids' names/ages, location, number of years hs'ing, hs'ing style and whatever else you want to tell about yourself.

Joelle, with 6 yr old Finn in central Michigan. I'm starting to look at homeschooling, which I'll be doing in addition to ps, mostly over summer and longer holiday breaks, so I haven't picked a style yet.

blessed be
Joelle

Hi. I mostly lurk on both boards, but anyway, my name is Audrey and I'm homeschooling DS Austin, 6. We live in Alabama, about an hour from Georgia and Florida. This is our 2nd year homeschooling, though I homeschooled DD before from 7th - 10th grades. At that point, she decided to get her GED and pursue other interests. We are what I would classify as "eclectic" homeschoolers. My husband and I each have home based businesses, but he is out of the house a lot, so it's mostly DS & I home during the day. We are just now getting to a point where I feel more comfortable with homeschooling...there have been times when I didn't feel that we were doing enough, but now I can see progress. :-)

I'm Kris, wife of 13 1/2 years to Brian and stay-at-home/hs'ing mom to Brianna (9), Josh (5) and Megan (3).  We're in our third year of eclectic hs'ing.  By eclectic, I mean eclectic in curriculum AND style.  lol  We lean toward a classical approach.  Currently we're using Easy Grammar/Daily Grams for grammar, Horizons for math (K & 4th) and Explode the Code for phonics and Greenleaf Guide to Old Testament History for our Bible study.  In addition, I write my own unit studies.  We're currently enjoying a study on Ancient Rome (which also means we're incorporating Latina Christiana for Latin).

I'm Shari and have been married to my DH 17 yrs this past Saturday. We have 3 girls, Michelle (16), Jessica (13), and Elaina (5). Our oldest dd is still in P/S because she loves basketball and it's not available for h/sers around here. We started h/s June '04 so we're still newbies but I'm looking forward to h/sing for some time. We live in SW TN. As far as style, I'm sure there's a technical name for it (there's a name for anything anymore ;0) but we use texts for math and Language arts and try to use real books for science and history. For our youngest, I hope to try to fight my need to 'do school' and let her learn by playing. We also use unit studies. I won't say 'welcome' since we're going to get a new board but I do look forward to getting to know everyone from the PP board!

Shari
