Wow. What a bunch of squeamish weiners! I live in Europe where children's clothing flea markets are very common. It's totally acceptable here to buy all kinds of clothing. I can see people who think new unders are just something they do, but really! I'm with the poster who said that ALL of your wash will have fecal matter. For goodness sake ladies. Germs are good! I've managed to raise three kids who have all worn hand me down panties. Amazing, huh?

rofl... Some of you are waaaay too uptight!

I had lots of hand-me-downs as a child and I don't think I thought anything icky about getting undies in the batches. I'm sure I tossed ones that had worn out elastic. I know for a fact that I absolutely loved getting the undershirts and long johns from my cousin since my mom didn't ever buy me those and they helped me feel warm. (I was a California kid kidnapped by gypsies to the freezing tundra of Hoosierland or that is the story I profess and the biggest memory I have of childhood was being cold.) I probably would have passed on undies if my second child had been of the same sex. I know that if they looked well worn, I would not have passed them on but clean undies is clean undies. As an adult I've passed bras and slips on to my sisters when I lost weight and they still looked nice and didn't fit me anymore. Very interesting responses to an interesting question. -BB

thought I should finally add my 2 cents.

I have no issue with them. I mean I have borrowed a swim suit for unexpected beach visits so I see no difference. Plus My son and nephew wear the same size and have a few pair of the same underwear. Since he spends weekends here I am sure they have gotten swapped in the wash.

Then again I don't have a big germ hang up so that could affect it.
