Why stop when your first grandchild is born?! I know lots of people who were pregnant with the DD or DILs and LOVED IT! I am kind of hoping to be able to be pregnant with at least 1 or 2 of my daughters and go through all of that with them!
As far as come backs...I try to be really careful and sensative about it after a friend of mine shared this story.
She was at church, adn someone commented that her hands were really full. She was just about to say "Better full than empty!" when the person who was with them asked how she was doing after her recent m/c. Apparently, she had been trying for 4 years to have a baby, and here my friend had just had her 5th! Had she said that, it would have been very hard for this woman, who has longed for a child for so long and yet didn't have any. She wasn't saying anything negative - just was commenting on what came to her mind!
I really try to keep this in perspective when talking to people - you never know where people are coming from!
