Since you are asking for advice, this is my take:
Do you know the gender? if not, or if it's a boy, then make it plain that this is a welcome baby no matter what and having the shower underlines that statement. Also make it plain if you don't appreciate jokes about how this is your girl at last or how many times you will try to get a girl or that sort of nonsense jokes.
Maybe consider a wish list along the lines of gift certificates, mom indulgences or more family/communal items since most likely you have all the baby stuff you need bar a few perishables.
More likely you'd appreciate an apple peeler for making apple deserts and sauces (I have a great one, not electric, just screws the apple through a peeler and core remover), or a Wii with fun indoor gaming activities, or a high chair, or a diaper service, or help putting in a vegetable garden, or a shaded hammock, or... you get the point.
