Does anyone else notice there are a lot more people having large families lately?

I didn't pay attention to family sizes so much till I started having a bigger than "average" family myself. Many of my friends have larger families as well actually. Most have 3 kids. A few have 4. One has 3 sets of fraternal twins. One Sunday I met a family visting from another church, with 12 kids. My dad had 6 kids between his 2 marriages, and I'm #4 of the whole brood, but the oldest of the 2nd batch. I still see plenty of people stop at one or two kids though.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Yes, actually I have and I don't think it's because I've been more aware. I've been meeting a lot of people who never planned to have more then 2 children who hope to have a large family so there are lots more. I go to Voddie Bachum's church and see a lot of new people with the new conviction of giving their family size to God.

Yes! I am from a family of five kids, which was really unusual back in the '80's when two kids seemed to be the norm. Recently, I've noticed that three kids seems to be the "new" two, and four is getting more common. Maybe I'm just more attuned to big families because I was part of one and we were such an aberation. It's really fascinating to me how mainstream it's getting. 3 kid families seem to be the norm in my area (I have two kids and am contemplating a third).

I read a statistic that something like 25% of births in a recent year were to moms who were having their 3rd or 4th child.
