question about miscarriage..
I hope that this doesn't get long, but I need some advice...
When my youngest son was 3 months old, I got an IUD. I was breastfeeding him, and only had light periods (one day of pink spotting) up until I weaned him at 13 months. After I weaned him, I noticed that I was having ovulation pain. This was the first time that I'd felt ovulation pain since I got pg with him. With the IUD I wasn't even sure if I would ovulate. Sure enough 12 days later AF comes. It was much heavier than the light spotting I had had in previous months (since he was about 11 months old). It was bright red, and like a normal period for me. The problem is this...I am now on day 9 of bleeding. I haven't had any bad cramps (some light back pain). The blood was bright red and normal up until day 6 or 7. Then it slowed down for 1/2 day and came back really really dark red/brown and heavier than before. The back pain/crampiness didn't start until the dark bleeding started. I've NEVER bled more than 6 days for AF, and it's never been so dark either. I'm just really confused and don't know what to think.
Like I said earlier the ovulation pain surprised me because I have the IUD. I've know that it isn't likely to get pg with an IUD, but I also know that it isn't 100%. I also know that if I were to get pg with the IUD it would more than likely cause a miscarriage. I guess the point of my post is to ask if the symptoms I mentioned above sound like an early miscarriage or not. I've never experienced this or a miscarriage before.
