I thought it might be fun for those who vote today to check in about the lines and how voting was going where they are.

I just heard from an east coast friend that she planned to get there right before the polls opened and found a line around the building and down the block.  She'll go back later.  I have to vote before work and don't have much of a margin of time so I'm treating myself to a Starbucks and heading planning on being in line 45 minutes early.

Please share your experience in this historic election.

DH went very early ( about 6:30am) and said he had to wait about 10 mins ( which is actually kinda long for our voting place LOL)

I am heading over around 10am, but have been dealing with an 11 month old who has been crying for more than 2 hours straight this morning with teething...I was going to take them all ( 4 kids) because my 15 year old wants to be there when I cast my vote... hopefully his little brother coperates and chills out lol I do NOT want to stand in line with a screaming baby and be frustrated when I cast my vote!

plan B is I can get my 17 year old neighbor to come sit with the baby...plan C is my oldest watches him while I run to vote.... I have a plan for every letter of the alphabet, I AM going to vote! lol

I voted early, prepared in case I was giving birth, but we are in NC and you can imagine it is CRAZY today.  My DH was taking our two year old, but at 7AM the line was a two hour wait.  He will go at 3PM and wait until he can vote this afternoon.

I am happy to see so many people getting out to vote!

I live on Long Island and there wasn't much of a wait.  It might have been about five minutes.

Hey Rose, vote FIRST, then go to Starbucks!   Starbucks is giving a free coffee to those who vote today!  (got an email from them yesterday saying so!  They have my email because I reload my dh's card online...)

My polling place is right across the street, so I'll walk the girls to school, then head there on the way back!  I've never had to wait to vote there, but I will report back.  Actually I'd be pretty excited if there WAS a line!   Dh is bummed, he has to BE at work at 7am in Madera, so he can't vote until this afternoon....
