Sorry I am so late today!

I had to get my MIL off to the airport this morning for her 9am flight.

Boy - TONS has been going on over the last couple days, where to start??

Friday - managed to get my huge to-do list done and to bed early, not sure how!

Saturday - ran my first official 5K. I was SO nervous, I've been running over a year and run 5K or more ALL the time (3 miles is my "short" run) But I'm pretty slow and I have never run in a race. But it was SO much fun. I had a great time, so glad I did it! It was a really cold morning, 48 degrees, our coldest so far this fall. It was a fun race, lots of people dressed up in costumes. I did really well (for me!) I was smack dab in the middle of the pack (about 800 out of 1600) so I can live with that. The kids did awesome in their 1K. My dd came in top 10 out of all the kids (I think about 7th-8th maybe) She kept up with girls who were almost 2 feet taller and 2-4 years older than her! I was so proud of her, I really hope she does track, I think she could really excel at it.
I'll post some pics later.

After the race (which my MIL refused to get up 2 hours early to come to watch the kids) MIL's friend dropped her off at our house. We went out to lunch then came home and prepped for the party. I had a great excuse of that to keep me in the kitchen and not having to socialize too much.

MIL took the kids trick or treating. Then we had a party at our house. It was SO much fun. About 5 couples came, Jason set up the karaoke machine, we went through quite a few pitchers of sangria and a whole bunch of jello shots! My MIL acted a bit put out, but I really could care less! She went to bed around 11:30 I think, everyone stayed til about 3am.

Sunday, we all slept in, then MIL and dh took the kids to a movie while I studied. Last night we BBQ'd and then lit a fire in the fire pit in back yard and roasted marshmellows and made smores. The kids loved that, I don't know why but we have never done that with them. We got the fire pit 2 years ago and never used it.

Today - MIL left this morning, I've been studying all day for a huge geology exam tonight.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

BONUS: None. I didn't eat any Halloween candy, however, last night I did have two real smores, with marshmellow, chocolate, etc. Its only the 2nd time this year I have had real sugar, so I was feeling a bit ill afterward!

adgenda today: I got the kids off to school, worked on some laundry, then when my DD got home from preschool we went to my sons school to surprise him and ate lunch with him for his birthday, then here in a bit i'm taking cupcakes to share with his class.. Then tonight I am taking the 2 kids out to eat for dinner, DS's choice..

Our weekend was lots of fun, the kids had a great time trick or treating and got way to much candy!

i'm a borderline diabetic so I haven't gotten in to the candy.. well I take that back.. i did eat 2 pieces yesterday :-)

Monday Mania at it's best again! Mondays are my longest days. It's so crazy.

This morning, I started my day with a mid term. I feel pretty good about it, so I'm not panicking. I should look back over my notes to see if I did the math parts right, but I don't want the stress.

Then mother/baby lecture, I love that class. Now I'm "working." My job is to be present to hold a computer lab open, and then to do any little assignments that come my way, which are few and far between. I'll have to work again tonight. I TA for an acct class, which is fun.

My mom is still in the ICU, but I won't have a chance to get up to see her today except maybe a few minutes. All my siblings are in town, too, and I don't have time to visit with them, either. I have truly made my schooling and my kids my entire priority.

For fun, my AF is late, like 2+ weeks late. I had a blood draw Friday to be sure, and it's negative, so I'm not pregnant.  You can bet I'll drink to that! LOL

Bonus: we don't do Halloween, so no candy overload at my house. If I want candy, I buy it. I used to get it as a special treat from time to time for my kids, bu my xh buys the kids candy for every single visit, it's no longer a special treat, so I don't bother. Now, my house is the one where they get their nutrition only, and dad gives them all the treats. He does all the fun stuff with them, too. ug, that's a whole other post....

Wow everyone sounds busy. MichaelAnn - I thought your MIL was staying a lot longer...she has already gone home ?

Well my grandmother died yesterday. She was a very sweet lady, but was suffering too much in the end. They are having this funeral this Thursday which leaves very little time. My youngest dd is not feeling well. I took her to the clinic again and then to get x-rays. She is really tired and had stomache pain inconsistently but quite bad sometimes.

My Mom surprised me and suggested that I should just focus on my dd. I thought she would not understand.

Anyway I have just finished some studying. My practive tests are quite inconsistent. We also have to write 2 essays during the test - so I have been practicing those as well.

Anyway - busy week ahead. Let's hope all our kids get better :)

Ann
