There's been a lot of 'discussion' back and forth about board closings and all that entails, and I think that TPTB at ivillage have come up with a reasonable solution that should work for everyone. Part of the 'problem' of late has been the slowness of some of the boards ... that people store the boards they frequent in their 'favorites' and may not explore other boards. There has also been a slow-down in the boards since the format changed a year or so ago, and other reasons.
Anyway ... they are STILL planning on closing this board as of Thursday, Oct. 21st. However, what they are going to do is the following:
1 - Redirect traffice to the Children's Mental Health Board, also on Parentsoup.
2 - Add a folder on that board for Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
3 - Add my website (our current Resource Site) as a link to that website.
4 - Add me as Co-CL on the Children's Mental Health Board.
So, although we will not have our OWN place to go, we sort of will ... there will be own own folder ... which will allow us to go there, as well as to explore the other folders on that Board (as often our kids have multiple diagnosis, or people come here seeking direction which may not lead to ODD, so there will be a broader array of information.) We will stilll have our Resource Site available. And I'll still be around ... which solves the problem of trying to start something separately.
It will be a little different, but essentially the same ... I'm going to give this a go, and I hope you all will as well.
So, as always, feel free to email me personally and directly ... or pop over to the Children's Mental Health Board and visit us there.
Nancy
