As few visits to the fast food restaurants as possible, or none at all. The only fast food place is good is a Subway. After 6" sub I usually drop at least 1/2 pounds the next day.
I think a lot of kids are like adults stretched their stomachs a lot. My daughter had a friend over (11 years old) and I could watch how much she ate that day. Oh my Goodness: she ate at home, then I gave her a sandwich, then snack after snack after snack, non-stop. I believe her mom is responsible for stretching her stomach so much.
A size of meal portion is very important. Only healthy, low sugar, snacks during the day.
