It might be hemangioma. My daughter now six has one on the back of her head. We first noticed it at about 3 months when it was about the size of an eraser. It eventually grew to about the size of a nickel and has been shrinking for the last several years. We were referred to a dermatologist who simply noted it's growth every few months. After a couple of years it no longer needed to be monitored. And we haven't worried about it since. It was recommend it that we wait, because they usually resolve themselves, and if it was still present at all when she reaches her teen years to let her decide if she wants it removed. Since it is completely covered by her hair, it seems unlikely that she will decide to have it removed.
