My son was pretty much completely potty trained four months ago. Then at the end of August we moved to a new house which messed him up a little. So instead of no accidents in a day he would have one or so, plus a little wet every night (night time I am not concerned about though, we'll deal with that later). But the problem is that this last week to week and a half my son has gotten worse. He is purposely not using the potty sometimes but instead pees in his pants. Many times I can tell that he has to go, so I ask him to go but he says he does not want to go to the potty, not that he doesn't have to go. Sometimes he tells me he has to go potty, other times he does not. He goes to the potty when he feels that he has time. Every time he goes we get very excited and give him lots of positive attention. And he gets very excited. We have also tried to give him stickers and other rewards, but it is not working. He seems to go potty if he wants a sticker or candy, and think that it is fine that he misses out on one if he goes in his pants another time. It is very important to him that he is a big boy, when he pees in his underwear I try to give him little attention for it, but tell him that big boys don't pee in their underwear but use the potty. Usually his reply is "I peed in my underwear"  while smiling about it. Almost like he is proud of it. I don't get it. I don't know what else to try. I've tried to give rewards, positive attention vs. little attention when he has wet underwear, bringing him to the potty every hour, give him rewards like 10 minutes of playing on the computer if he stays dry all day, but still he does not seem to get better. I have been trying now for almost two weeks. Does anyone know what to do? Thanks!

Big ((hugs))!  A change in a toddler's life like moving to a new house can definitely mess up the progress you've made.   And it's completely natural for them to regress and have some accidents.  Our son did the same thing.  He was completely trained during the day and at night for about the past 2 months.  All of a sudden 2 weeks ago he started having accidents.  He stood up on his chair at the dinner table and just let loose and peed all over his chair!  All you can do is just keep up with what you're doing.  Remind him that big boys don't pee in their pants but make sure you're not scolding him or he'll regress even further.  We would just tell Drew that he shouldn't pee in his pants but that accidents happen.  We'd take him into the bathroom and show him the toilet and do a little reminder while we cleaned him up.  He had several accidents in a 2 week time-span and now he's back to being good about it.

When they first get potty training down, it's normal for them to have some accidents here and there.   Just keep doing what you're doing and he'll get back to having no accidents soon!
