So we started PT when DD was about 18.5 months old. It has been 5 months, and we're still struggling almost as badly as at first. 2 months ago, she had about 3 weeks with barely an accident (just one every week). I didn't usually have to remind her; she just told me when she needed to go, and we ran to the potty. Sometimes she even woke me at 3AM to take to to go, and I didn't mind a bit.

However, since then she's just not doing it anymore. I don't remember the last time she told me before she had to go. We have to set the timer again, and can't be away from the potty more than an hour. Even then, sometimes she'll fight me about using it. Or she'll sit but not go, and then have an accident 10 minutes later. She doesn't care anymore about wet pants, and fights me when I take them off to put on dry ones. The one thing she's been consistent with is going #2 in the potty, but this morning she went in her panties and then ran and screamed when I changed her. We're practically back to square one! :(

What am I doing wrong? Or what could I do to better encourage her? I was so hoping to be done by the time she turned 2 (in mid-November)!

Don't worry, you aren't doing anything wrong!  It's very normal for your child to regress a bit during the potty training process.  It's could take a bit for her to get it completely down pat.  I think the progress she's made so far considering she isn't even 2 yet is amazing!  Most children aren't fully trained until closer to the age of 3.  Just keep doing what you're doing and eventually she's going to get the hang of it.  Accidents will happen and she'll resist every once in a while.  It's just part of the process.

Good luck and keep us posted!
