explanation from the doc!
so i took her to the doc, just to check to make sure she didn't have a uti or anything. no uti causing it.
but... we(i hope) have an explanation! so the doc said that it is very common for little girls(and i'm sure boys too) at this age to be too busy playing to want to use the toilet. so they hold it in. it causes the bladder to stretch out. it never completely empties and the signal that tells them they need to pee then doesn't work right. so since it is a muscle it can be trained and strengthened back. yea-good news. so the doc recommended that we get a potty watch(a kitchen time would work too, but the watch puts them in control so you aren't fighting them each time) so i decided it would be worth anything right now and got one(about $10). dd is so excited to go potty again, and she is willing to do it herself with that watch! doc says as she stays dry with it, increase the time. eventually we should be back to normal.
she is so excited, and for me to not have to fight with her or constantly clean up the messes? it sounds like a dream, lol. but hopefully this works!
