My daughter is filling out an application.  She had already completed her essay for an English class.  She was going to copy and paste the essay into the application since it is already done.  When she go to that point of the application, it says to type the essay directly into the space, do not copy and paste it from any other document.

Any idea why they would say this?

My guess is that it is an attempt to slow down plagurism in these essays.  Some people would just copy and paste someone else's work.

With so much cheating today some colleges may put NO COPY&Paste Allowed
on thier applications so students canot steal other peoples essays.
The other documents can be someone elses that you copy&paste from.

We haven't encountered this with out applications yet, but I'm guessing that it has to do with formatting, not copying someone else's work.

Will this be your first cs? Where is she looking?
