no.  not even close.

you went off on a diatribe about workaholic parents who don't make time for their kids. I just wondered if your vitriole extended to sahps who do practically the same thing (but just that they're not working) -- ignoring their kids.... OR was all of that vitriole ONLY for workaholic wohps?

i think all 3 of my kids at five YO went through power struggles with coats.  they hat(ed) layers and so do i really.  because i dropped them off AT school i just stuck the coats in their backpacks, 9 X out of 10 i pcikec them up with those coats on.  yay.  :)

Agreed, and the child should be able to decide for himself whether he is or isn't cold without parents taking that as a personal sign of disrespect. Sometimes the child is running around and really is sweaty, whereas the parent is cold because she's just standing there.

I'm reading this thread with amusement, as it reminds me of the 2-bite debate. ;)

It does seem to be part of the look, but I still don't like it. Limited Too sells camis with built-in bras that my girls both like, fortunately, so it hasn't been an issue yet. DD1 is really into clothes being comfortable and doesn't like having a lot of straps.
