My name is Kelly and I have a problem! LOL!!

I seriously need to stop looking at store flyers and reading the "deals" blogs!! We are so well-stocked on most food and just about all the household/toiletry products we use. But it's sooooo tempting to get more when I read/see the deals out there! Hate to pass up that great price!!

Maybe I need to do something like Jennifer does and give myself a set amount of $$ each week for food & the other stuff. I do track my spending by the month, but even w/the best intentions to stay below $X, I still find that it slowly creeps up and over that amount.

Anyone else have this problem????

Me!  I have a hard time passing up the "great deals" too.  Even though my pantry is stuffed and my freezer is busting at the seams.  I have considered giving myself a weekly budget, but haven't done it.

Just be strong!  Perhaps we should find the "homemade Christmas" blogs and alter our focus for now :-)

Kelly, it is funny that you mention that, because this is the first time I have done it this way. Usually I pull $200 for each pay period. then I spend 75% of it the first week and the rest the second week. Now I am limiting myself to $50 each week and I love it! I am definitely going to keep doing it, even when I up my budget more.

BTW, we have $500 towards the washer and dryer now.

WTG on the $500! I think I'm going to watch my totals by the week for awhile and see how it goes. Maybe just the fact that I'm checking the total more often will make me think twice before buying more of something I already have plenty of!
