Boy, this board has been sooooo sloooooow lately! I know I've also been MIA lately. Just busy w/subbing and then running to different things in the evenings too. Between teaching at the college & the Y plus watching my granma (will now be 102 on the 12th!!!), I have something going 4 nights per week!

Please check-in and let me know that you're at least out there lurking!!!

Now heading out of town for the rest of the weekend to visit 18yo ds and attend one of his college orchestra concerts!

Yeah, I have noticed.  I am trying to get better about checking this board, but there's not much here.  Of course, I could jump in and ad something ;-) but I really don't have much to say.  Just working here.  My freezers are SO full I can't squeeze an ice cube in there, lol, so I need to be doing a freezer exile.  Trying to get geared up for Christmas.  Not stressed about it, I just don't want it to creep up on me and not take the time to cherish the season.

My oldest (10yo/4th grade) is starting to struggle with school again.  He did this last year too, and since 2nd grade his teachers have told us that it takes him a lot longer to process the work than the rest of the kids.  Hence the reason that after the first 6 weeks (review), he seems to steadily lose his ground and ends the year way behind.  I struggle all summer to get him back, and here we go again.  His teacher this year seems like a PERFECT match and is not sugar coating the facts.  DH seems to think I am exaggerating apparently, but coming straight from the teachers mouth hopefully it will be accepted better.  Denial perhaps?  I don't know, but DH's answer the past few years has been that DS needs to just "buckle down and focus on his work", but it's not that easy for him to do.  I am really in favor of homeschooling (at least my oldest right now), but that comes with complications too, mainly my income, not to mention that DH thinks it won't work.  So, if you are a pray-er, please consider praying for a happy resolution :-).  Thanks!

I'll try to think of some stuff to get the board going....

Hey everyone. I'm here. Haven't been on the computer much. Fingers crossed that tomorrow will be the first day that all three kids go to school in 11 days. Yes, 11. I had two with H1N1 and then the third got sick, we assumed also the flu, but it was strep throat! Made for a crazy Halloween and me stuck in the house for nearly 11 days. I would only venture out for late night runs to the grocery store and pharmacy.

You'd think I would have done projects, or attacked closets, but I didn't. Sigh. I just want a regular schedule with all the craziness that goes with it if you can believe it!

Today we emptied out our living room because after waiting 8 years we are finally ripping out the yucky stained carpet!! Yay! I have been waiting for this since we bought the house. I have no idea what I'm in for, but it is pre-finished hard wood and we aren't doing it, so shouldn't be too bad.

Other than that, enjoying the weather, bagging leave, winterizing things. Doing the sales, building up the pantry a bit. And need to get on track with ds' birthday and Christmas!!

We have just been busy here. Kids and I have been sick off and on. Swine flu hit 2 of them, but not at the same time. Trying to save money and spend very little. Kevin is very busy, so he is really rarely here. Between school, and working at the gymnastics place he is gone a lot. Add on the crisis team that meets several times a week to deal with the contract negotiations and he is never here. I wish I could say that things were resolving themselves, but they are not. We have been trying to enjoy the nice weather as much as we can.

I want to take advantage of the great baking sales, but I am having to pick and choose what I can stock up on and even that is limited. our options of what to eat at home are becoming limited and I hate that! I like having a well stocked house, so that we can eat whatever we feel like. Kelly, I don't know how you keep your budget so low, because I am struggling big time.

Amy, good luck with your decision on schooling. Has the school looked into ways to help your son?

Im around too, just getting over being sick myself and my youngest was sick with the flue also most likely h1n1, a couple weeks b4 that he was sick too.  Hes back on track now and Im almost 100% myself.  Its nice to get back to the living LOL.

Business is OK but with the economy nothing is 100%, there is no plans for extra lets just say.  no bonuses for us planned, the guys of course will get theirs but we have to be conservative.  I think mentally for dh its exhausting, because he is always looking out for the company and looking ahead, and he feels responsible for everyone.

For now ds is working every other week and learning to budget, hes doing a lot better, he doesnt need to ask me for gas $$ a couple days b4 payday anymore.  Our dd just got a job as a pm cashier for a new grocery store in town, we are thrilled for her!!! she is a saver and this will help ALOT as she is due to get her drivers license in the late spring.

So just plugging along here, grateful for family, home and work.

 Terry
