is it possible for a baby to be ok with whole milk but have some kind of intolerance to plain yogurt?

kayla has been congested since i started giving her yogurt again ... i thought that maybe she was getting sick but she's not showing any other signs of a cold - just nasal congestion. she is getting a diaper rash again and checking back on my feeding log, i noticed that when i stopped giving her yogurt for a few days, the diaper rash seemed to be going away but i gave her yogurt yesterday and today and her rash seems to be coming back (i just made the connection earlier today). is it possible to be ok with whole milk but allergic to yogurt? dairy is dairy, isn't it? btw, she's ok with cheese etc - just the yogurt seems to be an issue (i think). i also can't get a pedi appt until november!! any insight would be great... thanks!

That's weird!

Yeah if she's fine with regular milk and cheese, yogurt shouldn't be any different.  At least, as far as the milk proteins goes.  Maybe it's something else in the yogurt that bothers her, like the live cultures or something?  I guess if it's really an issue but she loves yogurt you could try soy or coconut milk yogurt possibly.

It does sound like an allergy or intolerance. Lucas was the opposite, he could have yogurt and cheese, but whole milk made him throw up. He is on whole milk now, I just had to wait a little longer than the 1 year and I did the slowest mix with formula and slowly phase in the milk. I think we took a month to phase it in.
