If you are on Directv I could use some help.

I have been thinking about adding the showtime/HBO package to our service.  Just by fluke this weekened I turned it on to a Showtime channel and viola, there it was!  So I'm guessing it's a free Showtime weekend.  So I wanted to go into our directv account and see what we could do about adding it to our package and under "my services" it shows what channel package we have and how much per month, what DRV service and how much per month, and then under that it says Showtime 0.00 per month.

So is it a free weekend or do I have Showtime for free for some reason? I'm half afraid to ask for fear they take it away.

Does anyone know what's going on?

All I can tell you is that I have DirectTV and we did NOT have Showtime this weekend.  I have HBO/Cinemax.  I hate Cinemax and never watch it...I would love to switch it over to Showtime but I didn't know that was an option.  Maybe I should call them.  Anyway, on Saturday I was checking all of the movie channels (hoping for a free weekend) and Showtime was NOT working for me.

Enjoy what you've got and don't mess with it.  Maybe you're in the middle of some type of "try it, you'll like it" freebie.

My friends received HBO and Showtime for free for three months because they were having issues with their service, so DirectTV gave them the extras for free for a while.

I have DirectTV and that normally means free for the weekend and they usually show great movies

Thanks ladies - It's Monday evening and we still have Showtime, so no clue why but I'm keeping my eye on it.

Dh has the sports pack and I don't have any premium channels but I think it's my turn, so if they take it away I'll probably order it anyway.

Kendra, you have HBO Cinemax and don't like it? (I can't see your post as I type.  I have Denise's up).  I'm hoping I'm making the right choice.  There are a few shows on Showtime I like.  I know you can go in online and just click buttons to switch it around.   Not sure.  I wish they had a mixture that didn't cost 109.00 a month for more than one choice.

I'm also on the old choice plus (or something like that) plan which is no longer available.  I can upgrade to a current package for $3 more a month but I'm not sure what I'm missing for $3.00 a month, so for now I'm staying put on that one.  If either of you know anything more about that let me know.

Kendra, I see your post now and I mis-wrote.

No, I don't think you can get HBO and Showtime - although ultimately that would be my wish. It says that the more premiums you subscribe to the less they cost so maybe that's an options.  I do not want Starz or Cinemax either one but I would like HBO and Showtime - the downer is that it appears that the only way to do that is to pay for the all out premium and I really am not in the market for that.  That would add another 30.00 to my bill if I'm reading it correctly.   I can't seem to see how much it would be if I were to order them individually. I'm afraid to click on the buttons for fear it will just add them - I'm sure there's an "are you sure" page but I don't want to take the chance.  Lol.
