I dont know why I put this in this topic folder, but I guess just because I wanted to fill it up somewhat! lol

Ive had some issues with insomina in the past, and took Ambien with great results.

(I know many of you got a great knee slap out of my posting when I neglected to put myself to bed immidiatly after taking it and continued posting.)

Ive recently had some    issues again, with insomnia, and tension headaches, waking up every single morning for a couple weeks with a headache and neck ache. I cant fall asleep well, dont stay asleep and I wake up around 3 am and every 30 min after til I just freaking get up hours ahead of when I have to.

So when I saw my neurologist this week for my migraine meds update apt, I told her about it and she gave me some Lunesta to try, and some flexoril ( muscle relaxers) for the tension headaches. She said they may be another 'sort' of migraine, but my relpax didnt get rid of this type of headache, so then again maybe not.

I tried the Lunesta and....

it sucks.

It barely made any difference at all. It took me 2 1/2 hrs to fall asleep, I woke up several times starting around 4 am, so I guess I got about 5 hrs sleep. better, but not great.  AND I woke up with a headache still.

She told me I can take a Lunesta with a muscle relaxer, so I'll try that tonight, and see how that combo works.

Anyone else try these sleep meds?

Oh I do have one tip for those who have tried Lunesta and had the 'bad taste' thing. DONT TAKE IT WITH WATER!.  The dr's drug rep told her with recent testing, they found that water makes the bad taste WORSE but if you drink it with milk or juice its not bad. I took it with Pepsi and had no bad taste at all!

ambien is the one for me, lunesta did the same to me as you but it also left a foul taste...the first night i spent 2 hrs drinking coke and eating tons of peanuts just to get rid of the taste and there was still some..i gave the pills to my doc and she flushed em and wrote me a new script for ambien again lol

haven't tried lunesta....took ambien (not sure doseage) when I was in hospital before/after I gave birth to my son (complications) and my dr prescribed it for me.It made me halucinate and talk "outta my head".One night I remember talking to a "little california gold rush" man sitting on the side of my bed (old clothes and funny beard LOL)...hilarious....one night dh came in from work and he said I was talking all outta my head.Haven't taken it since cause of all the other things I have heard it can cause (sleep driving, sleep cooking and eating)-don't want to take any chances LOL....

oh yeah, its DEFINATLY a 'take and go to bed med' lol

I just need something really strong for 2 reasons.

1) to get a couple good nights sleep then I stop taking it. and Ive taken so many meds over teh past years I have a high tolerance and a lot of otc things just dont work for me.

2) when I get a migraine, ( sometimes I get a 'breakthrough migraine' that my relpax wont stop) I need something strong to knock me out to sleep through it.

dh loves it though. Once I had to call him and ask. 'Um babe, did we um... " and he laghs and says ohh yeaahhhhh baby and it was goooooddddd!!!"

rotf.
