I am new to this site and just happened to notice this board which caught my attention because being a parent is something I am passionate about.

I just wanted to say that I don't think it's anyone's right to judge anyones parenting style. I personally believe that there is no right way to parent. Each family needs to do what is best for THEIR family. Discipline especially depends on the situation and the child. In the short time I was on here I've noticed so many arguments for certain ways to discpline children. I've known many parents who tried various parenting styles such as spanking, time outs, redirection, charts, earning things, etc. For some children these don't work and for others it does.

My belief is that as long as the child grows up with valuable morals, good behavior and is happy then you've done your job as a parent regardless of what technique you use to discipline. Obviously you all are passionate about parenting as well otherwise you wouldn't be on here. And that tells me that you ALL seem like you are doing a good job raising your kids just by caring!

The whole point of this board is to debate,  hence the name Discipline Styles Debate there is a difference between debating and judging. Any way welcome glad to have you here.

And I think it's anyone's right to judge someone for participating in a debate board. So there.

Okay, why does anyone come onto a DEBATE baord and say they are upset that people are debating???

Its not like we hog tie people, drag them here and suddenly spring on them that thier ideals will be debated. Thats the point.

If I wanted everyone to agree with me I would go to a support board. I want to stand up for my views and at the same time see other peoples.

Jenna and Michael, lucky to have Adam, Mady, Aidin and Bryn.

As long as you agree with me, there's no debate.

Most people come to a debate board not because they're mean-spirited and want to hurt others, but because they like a good discussion in which there are many different POVs.
