IS anyone doing crochet work for:
scarves, hats, afghans or mini-afghans, etc?

I make these types of things but did not see any on Etsy? Did I just miss them or what?

Hi Brenda,

I've mostly checked Etsy in search of supplies (like handspun or handpainted yarns for knitting), so I'm not sure if you can get crochet items there.  I'm surprised that they wouldn't be there though.

Around here I see a lot of that stuff at local craft fairs, though the prices aren't usually reflective of the amount of time that goes into making them.

Have you tried E-Bay?

Hi Wendy,

I checked out ebay and found supplies and patterns, things for dolls, garments with a bit of crochet on them and one seller who makes afghans that are priced out way below value (10.00) and are not really to my liking.

I know that my designs are originals on style and content but I didn't expect the market to be empty.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Brenda,

When I went to Etsy.com and clicked on crochet (on the left of the page), I found a lot of crochet items for sale.  http://www.etsy.com/category/crochet/afghan

I'm not sure how much you are planning to ask for your things, but there were many things there with high-end prices (like $70 for a crochet cowl and $40 for a hat/diaper cover set for a newborn).

Perhaps one of the Etsy forums would give you more insight about the actual market for these things and if they are selling.  Of course, come back HERE and let us know how things go!!!

Hope this helps!

Gosh, Wendy, don;t know how I missed the crochet goodies. I actually searched instead of clicking on the link and what I wound up seeing was patterns but little or no works (I think)

Wow, there are really a lot of different kinds!
