I live in Michigan, which has the worst unemployment rate in the country. As far as the district I work in, it's a mix. We have many who have tons of money, while there is also a large percentage of trailer parks. I have had many students comment on confirmed or pending job loss.
Additionally, this has cause a decrease in enrollment. Combined with possible cuts in state funding, we are laying off. I expect to be okay this year, but I will be moving from special ed. to regular ed. Next year, who knows? I just started applying, so we shall see.
