If I were you, I would email her back and say that you are sorry she feels that way and that you will miss her company and your younger child will miss playing with her child.
Sounds like the other mom is a tad bit of a drama queen. I agree with the other posters, take the high road, and I would be considering my friendship with this woman. She sounds a little high-strung..LOL
