Athlete Semenya's family brush off gender controversy
The reason being that I have a tomboy myself. I have experienced sitting at an elementary girls basketball game and when my childs school was winning hearing other parents question my daughters gender. She had short hair. Otherwise she was a small petite thing. She's always been mistaken for boy as recently as earlier this year when here and I were in a restaurant together.
I too had been mistaken as a boy at 14. So I know those around the person are more offended than the actual person.
My daughter handles any confusion with dignity where I tend to be a little rude.
I will be really disappointed if this woman turns out to be man.
