I am SO TIRED of receiving e-mail forwards that are FALSE.  FALSE, FALSE, FALSE. 

Pyrex dishes in your microwave could explode and kill you.

President Obama is not a U.S. citizen.

President Obama said this.

President Obama said that.

I am also tired of e-mail forwards that have lovely prayers and end with "if you're not ashamed of Jesus, send this to x # of friends".

I am sick of e-mail forwards that want me to sign my name to stop something from happening or make something happen.  As though my typing my name on an e-mail will substitute for my legal signature.

WHY ON EARTH do the people who forward this crap not find SOMETHING ELSE to do with their time ... like investigate the crap they're forwarding?  Is it THAT DIFFICULT to go to snopes.com and check it out?  REALLY?  And why is my mother one of the worst offenders?  HOW MANY TIMES have I replied to her e-mails with snopes links with correct, researched information?  Why does she and everyone else I send these to refuse to pay attention?

It drives me CRAZY!

O.K.  I'm done.  I'm still fired up, but what else is there to say?  Do I make things up about the people who forward this crap and send it out hoping others will perpetuate it as truth until it's all over creation?  Would they like THAT?  Have mercy. 

Sheesh.

Man, I sure wouldn't want to have your e-mail address...But then, the people I correspond to seem to have (ahem) slightly different views, at least politically, than some of the people who forward these things to you.  I think I got one political rant about a Canadian party once, I e-mailed back to the person who sent it and said "this sounds like crap to me" and she e-mailed back and said "Oh, does it?  I didn't actually read it that closely." Huh.  So...WHY are you forwarding it???

I rarely forward anything I receive, unless it's something I think someone else actually might like or be interested in.  I've received many emails like the ones you're talking about and most I just say - "ok..."   I do research some on on snopes that sound a little too out there, but most I just  let go, since I'm not passing it on.

Now if you don't email this to 5 friends within the next 10 min nothing special will happen. Even if you do , nothing special will happen that wasn't going to happen anyway and if you forward this to 10 friends, who couldn't care less about this, in the next half hour even more of the same will happen. ;-)

Yeah ... I would say that many of the people who have me on their e-mail list have VERY different political viewpoints.  It's maddening.  And it's not any better here.  My husband and son forward this crap, too, in spite of the fact that I pitch a fit every single time one of these stupid things comes across our computer.  Makes me nuts.

*sigh*  I don't know that it's ever going to stop, but every now and then, I have to let off some steam over it.  Thanks for listening ... and for the hugs.  ;o)
