Empty Nest

Hey there Deb!!!

I was just posting to Ann on a different board and we were posting about "coffee break", from 8yrs ago!! OMG...its been that long! LOL!

Well Ann told me you sometimes post here and come call you out! so here I am!!

How the Heck are you girl!! I read alittle about you! Yeah on getting into that empty nest stuff! and staying where you are! and ((Hugs)) to DH on the lost of his dear Dad, WOW! married 30yrs!! your getting old DEB! LOL! The kids sounds like they are doing well! college and living on their own!!

For me things are going great! We have been empty nesting for about 3yrs now! LOVE IT! best thing my DDs did was move out on thier own!! LOL! Mine are now 27 and 24. Our youngest graduated from college in June of this year, still hasn't found a "JOB" in her field yet! its slim pickings out there! she will have to move from where we are to get anywhere! BUT she has this wonderful "BF" that is going for his master here and not sure about leaving him yet! LOL! Oldest is back in School! YEAH!! and should gradutate next May! She also has this wonderful BF, he is a Navy Pilot, and is over in Iran for another 4months, then he will go to HI! which is great! but she has to finish school before she will move!

Me, Im working hard as I always do!! Im a office manager for a small office here and its a easy job! I don't do much but someone has to be here to answer phones and do the mail! LOL! Im still a CL on L&S boards. I moved to the darkside a while ago! LOL! I almost never come over to P&P boards! thanks to Ann I did!

DH is still working at the Hospital here, not sure what will happen then the take over is done in Jan next year, if he will still have a job! we might be moving! yeah!

I sure have missed ya! and think about you from time to time! wonder how your doing!

Can't believe the girls are that old already! I'm glad to hear they are doing so well and sounds like there's a wedding in the future huh?

Thank you, in regards to hubby's dad. It was hard and we miss him. Right now hubby and his brother are trying to see if they can get their mom's paperwork reactivated so she can come over and get some proper medical care. That would also be a prime opportunity to have the interior of her home repainted too. She's so set in her ways and being blind makes her even more so. Guess we'll see what happens.

My two are doing great. Sheela (22-1/2) is working for a TV station and is living at home for a while. She is also seeing a guy from high school and they seem to be content with their relationship.

Ali (21) is finishing off his final year at UW and is living with his girlfriend in the big city. She's an okay kid, but I wonder how long my boy is going to want to put up with her. Whatever, he's an adult now.

Hubby switched jobs again and still traveling a lot and probably more so then before. He grouches about it, but I keep telling him that he is lucky to be employed and just roll with it. Can't be picky in today's world. As for me, I'm holding down the fort and being the go-fer for the working people in my house.

Glad you gave me a shout out. Was wondering how you held up during the last few hurricanes.
