Hi, everyone. I have two close friends who both recently lost their dogs. One had hers for 9 years and she passed away kind of suddenly. The other had theirs for 6 years and they had to put him to sleep because he had cancer. :(

I would like to give them both something in memory of their dogs. I have never had a dogs or cats, so I don't exactly understand what they are going through or what would be appropriate. I enjoy making crafts and things, so I would especially love ideas of somthing I could make.

Thank you in advance.

~Sara

(((Sara)))  What a wonderful friend you are.  If you have access to pictures of these two ^angels^, a Memory Book would mean a lot to your two friends.  Or, you can simply give them the "makings" of a Memory Book.  An album, with stickers of dragonflies, rainbows, hearts....letters to spell their name.  Perhaps include some poems....there are many out there concerning the passing of a furkid.  Then your friends can go through the healing process while they make their own special Memory Book.

I know from experience that this can help....it makes one feel as if they're still able to take care of the loved on who is no longer beside them.......

Bless you for caring,

Dear Sara, what a sweet soul you are to be doing this for your dear friends.  They are so lucky to have you in their life, since not that many people truly understand how important our furkids are, and will always be.

Our very own ^'Mo's^ Mom gave you a wonderful idea about the memory books.  Those memories are something we bridgemoms will cherish for the rest of our lives.  As another thought, may I ask if you have any photographs of your friends and their precious furangels?  I'm just thinking a nice framed photo would let them know how you do understand their heartache.  Or, even a nice bouquet of flowers (or a living plant) and a note (remembering a 'happier' time with their furangel) would help.

Oh Sara, there are several ways to memorialize our precious furchildren (I wear memorial jewelry for my furangel) but I think the most important thing you could do, is to be there for them if they need a shoulder.  {{{hugs}}}

Please let us know how we can help.

With my heart,
  , ^Whisper^ & ^Wonder's^ Mom

Hi!

Try getting a memorial stone for them to put in their garden.  www.kayberry.com has a lot of stones for pets and many of them are personalized, so you can get the names of the pets on them.
