my dad was moving boxes downstairs and Blackie may have gotten out then.. SO another night of trying to find and get him in.. I will see him in a bush,or on the porch and I reach out for him, and he takes off.

Why does he run away, I've had him since he was born, so I would think he knows me by now.

It's frustrating, to come so close to him then he runs off.

He keeps running because he is scared.  Best thing you can do is find something he really likes - maybe even tuna - and then sit really quietly.  It can take a while, but he should come to you.

It can be frustrating, but he will come back inside.  I had a resident chicken at my house too and was very glad he never made it outside.

Good luck and let us know how things are going.

Thanks for your reply, I'm just nervous. Previously had a neighbor who worked for the division of wildlife and he trapped two of our cats that got out, had to get them out of the humane society. And neighbor on the other side , trapped a cat that we were feeding and wouldn't release her, even after my mom pleaded and begged her to.

Needless to say, we don't talk to those neighbors.

SO in between worrying about wild animals, stray cats, and neighbors, I'm a wreck! My sleeping is all messed up.

I'm hoping Blackie will come home today, he must be hungry!

I hope you got Blackie inside by now.  That's so scary when they escape, especially when you have neighbors like yours!

~~~~~~~~Blackie's home!!!!!!!!!
I finally saw him Monday night during the Bronco game, sitting on back porch... I opened the door but he ran away again..
So I scooped up the other cats, put them upstairs, and then left the back door open, with food on the kitchen floor...
about 30 mins later, he walks in, and I quietly walked over to the door and closed it, then picked up Blackie for some very much needed loving!!!!!!
He's been purring so much since then... I feel a TON better!!!!!!!!!!
