So, our semi-annual vet visit was last night.  :)  Tim, Tom & Ivy were up this time.

Tommy was an unhappy man and stabbed me with his nails a couple of times in an attempt to escape.  Dr. Taylor offered to get his nails, but he doesn't give me a problem so I let it go....I can get him over the weekend my self.  Tim was a chicken, but nothing unusual.  She said he needs his teeth cleaned but not bad.  She was astounded that they are both 7 years old.  Tommy weighed 14.1, Tim 14.  I thought Tom was heavier than that, but apparently not.

And then there was the Princess.  I figured we would get a lecture about her weight.  She came in just over 10 pounds.  Which doesn't sound bad until you realize she isn't that tall - I say if your circumference is greater than your height, you are in trouble.  :)  She was EVIL!!!  No bite attempts - she got close a couple of times but never tried to sink fang.  She did however scream like she was being murdered.  And my sliding door was open, so I can only imagine what the neighbors think now.  She was vaccinated and did get her nails trimmed.  We let her go and Dr Taylor wanted to check her microchip number.  Ivy was sitting on the ledge between the stairs and the sofa - Dr Taylor scanned her and Ivy sat there with her ears pinned back.  :)

I'm glad the vet was able to do everyone as planned.  That's too bad that Tommy got you with his claws.  Princess was good not to bite you anyway.  I bet you are all glad that is over.

I had the vet come to my house once to do the cats and never again.  They were all holy terrors.  They are too scared to move at the vet's office so I just make several trips a year and take them in.

The previous vet I used fell from favor for a couple of reasons: they changed ownership and didn't tell anyone - I found out when I came in with Tigger to have him euthanized....that is a great time to realize you don't recognize a single vet.  Also, they said I couldn't bring everyone together.

I admit, they get freaked out and freeze at the vet's office, but I am not sure that is good for them either.  Plus, I hate listening to them in the car and trying to get them in carriers - with Tim & Tom it becomes a blood sport - and I usually lose.  I have been using this vet since before adopting Ivy, so I have no idea what she would do at a vet's office, but I am sure it wouldn't be good.  :)

I have to admit, the mental picture I have right now is pretty comical.  Especially the yowling with the doors open.
