First - more good news. DAISY was adopted.  Miss Minnie is out of medical and on the adoption floor- with a cone on her head to keep her from chewing on her stiches after she messed with her spay incision.  Silly girl....

In any event, two weeks ago Sunday (when I dropped off the girls), I picked up a pair.  VERY tiny....maybe 3 weeks old.  Orange medium hair tabby boy (OJ) and his sister a brown tabby medium hair tabby (Cider).  They are a disaster.  They eat with their faces in the food, so their heads and front paws are covered in kitten food.  Plus they were having some litter box issues and were covered in poop and litter on the back end.  And we won't talk about my bathroom.

I have switched to clay litter and am using the cat attract additive....I think I have solved my problem.

And, when they were in for vaccinations this past Sunday, we picked up a solitary spare kitten - male short hair black and white (Blackberry).

I have "relearned" two things - kittens eat like there is no tomorrow, and tiny kittens come with mommies for a good reason.  I had to laugh - Tim stuck his head in the bathroom at one point last week and back right out....even he won't go near these kittens.  :)

That's wonderful news that Daisy got adopted.  I hope Minnie will heal fast so she will get adopted soon too.

Awww those sweet kittens.  I guess you are going to have to be the mom and show them how to be cats.  What a mess for you, but it will all be worth it when they find their forever homes.  LOL about Tim.  I guess he wants no part of that mess.

Minnie was adopted on Friday.  I didn't get to meet her new mom, but I understand she has a 1 year old female cat at home, do Minnie will have a friend.

I have no idea how to get those kittens to clean themselves.  I don't want to bathe them too often, but they are a mess.  Blackberry is no longer black and white - more like black and kitten food color.  :)  I keep hoping if I can get them clean, they will stay that way, but no such luck.  LOL

I did laugh at Tim - you know it is bad when even he doesn't want anything to do with the kittens.  I had the baby gate up in front of the bathroom door last night so I could air out the bathroom and Ivy sat for a while staring at the kittens - from about 3 feet away.  Even she won't get close.

I'm so glad that Minnie got adopted too!  That's great news.

Too bad you can't find a mama cat to mother them and clean them up.  Even if she is dry it would sure help to teach them what to do.

I can't help but LOL at this story. Reminds me of the twin kitties when they were little. They were sloppy too. They are still pretty sloppy with the litter box.

Hopefully they'll learn to be cats soon. If our dog can learn cat behavior (He was actually grooming the same way kitties do--lifting their legs right up in the air and cleaning their belly!) then they can learn to be kitties for real! :)
