During all of the Halloween commotion with trick-or-treaters, how do your cats react?  Are they interested in seeing what's going on?  Do they hide?  Are they indifferent?

Our cats are wimps. They hide when ANYONE comes to the door, no matter how well they may "know" them. SO Halloween is a night of no visible cats for hours!

Since our cats are black (and therefore more at risk than most might be) and indoor only, their inability to handle strangers is one of the main reasons we hide out on Halloween ourselves and don't answer to trick-or-treaters...

We get no trick or treaters because we live way in the woods... so my cats have no stress :)

Generally speaking, our cats will mostly hide, except for George, who welcomes everyone with a meow and a rub.  However, we mainly don't answer for trick-or-treaters because of our dogs who bark at anyone they don't recognize.  Even if they're upstairs when someone knocks, they will bark.  It would be a long, noisy night for us if we had trick or treaters knocking all night, so we just put the candy on the front porch and keep the doors shut so no pets get stressed.

Our two oldest cats sat right by the door on their towers and just watched the kids come and go. They were really interested. Our littest dude was hiding in the bedroom.
