Elderly Dogs

Dh & I loaded the shelties up in the car and headed towards the mountains for a chicken show. The show itself was interesting. I've never been to a chicken show before. Those folks are very serious about their poultry and the birds were beautiful.

After the show, we headed even further into the mountains to a place called Chimney Rock. It's a small town in the valley of a mountain. It has little shops right on the river and it's a really fun place. We didn't know it at the time but the area children all came to the town to go trick or treating door to door at the shops. We parked and got the dogs out and walked with the kids. It was SO fun! We had to carry Bud since he couldn't walk too far on his own but both Gracie and him had a blast. All the little ghosts and witches petted them. I was surprised because I thought the costumes would be frightening for Bud but he didn't seem to mind when he figured out that little kids were in them.

I took a couple of pics of Gracie and Bud near the river (I forgot my camera when we went to town) but I have to get new batteries to download them.

It was nice to find that 2 of the motels in Chimney Rock and the adjoining town of Lake Lure are pet friendly! Yay!

Sounds like you had a great weekend. It's always good to find pet friendly hotels & it sounds like a great town to visit. Can't wait o see the pics.

We just hung out at home. DH is doing much better & is able to get up on his own - good news since I had to go back to work today.

We had less kids than previous years but I got to visit with the kids across the street & another one of my neighbors so it was a good night.

  

I still haven't downloaded the pics. Monday evenings seem so busy plus I'm a slacker... LOL

I'm so glad that your dh is doing better. He seems to be healing really fast. It's always fun to see kids in their costumes. They're so durn cute!

I felt yucky on Saturday again, but still took Brionna trick or treating. Got a call from the vets office on Saturday morning, Angel won second place in their costume contest so we went and picked up her prizes. She won a large dog toy, a bucket of dog treats, a greenie and a bottle of shampoo. Here is a pic of her with the two small dog toys we got the day before (the small orange dog and the small black dog) just for taking the dogs in and then with her bigger toy, it's as long as she is!

Sunday I felt ok but tired and took a nap. LOL! I did manage to get the vacumming done and went grocery shopping too. For some reason I just cannot get used to the time change this time either.
