Another damn subhuman! At least she's charged with felony counts. I hope they nail her butt to the wall!

Just add this one to the long list of sickos we read about every single day. >>:=\\

She must be mentally ill.  Probably needs help for that more than nailing her bu** to a wall.

Well, yeah, that, too. There should still be legal consequences for her actions, though. I don't think *you* mean to imply she's off the hook because she's mentally ill. It's just I've read comments on far too many boards that are a kind of knee-jerk seeming "excuse" for not prosecuting such a person. And I strongly disagree with that. There should be some kind of balance between being held responsible and getting her the mental help, IMO. But no more cats or pets of *any* kind should be allowed for this woman until she's certifiable cured of her mental problems, for sure! I doubt the court will require her to get psychiatric help, though... And if she doesn't get the psychiatric help and treatment, it's likely she'll repeat her cruel behavior with other poor cats or other animals. She'll figure out a way to get more animals and repeat her actions. <:/

Oh no.  She shouldn't get a free pass here.  What she's done is so horrific I can barely think about it.

There's just not enough help out there for those with mental problems.  Or drug problems, as I found out the hard way with my sister.

She should definitely not ever, ever be allowed to own animals again.  And if she was, but to be monitored... there's just not enough manpower to check on these things, imo.

I doubt the court will require her to get psychiatric help, though...

I hope you're wrong.  If they sentence her to jail/prison, there's a chance she can get help and get medicated.  It all depends on the facility, ime.  But there's no guarantee she'll keep up with the meds upon release... so again, she should have a lifetime ban on owning any animal at all.

Then we agree. ;) Hey, I hope I'm wrong, too. At the very least, she should receive a psychological evaluation. I'm just a bit cynical about our court system in general, and in any kind of real justice for torturing and killing animals. <:-// Supposedly she has been charged with a felony, so that carries more weight than a misdemeanor. Still... Animals' lives and suffering aren't worth much in a court of law... And, as you say, there's precious little manpower to enforce laws against cruelty that already exist, perhaps even apathy as regards any enforcement, if laws really do exist in a given area... So, I can really see her getting off and getting no treatment whatsoever. Look at Michael Vick. Shrug. He got off pretty light, even with the horrendous things he was charged with. And the loser even has a contract again now. As far as I'm concerned *he's* mentally ill, too, for doing what he did. And he's running around free now.
