Happy Monday and Welcome to the Hounds Board Everyone!

Please take a minute to check in and remind everyone of: your name,
your dog's name(s), breed(s) and age(s)  and let us know what you
did over the weekend and/or what you are doing this week.

I'm co-CL Sue. I live in central Alabama. I have 10 dogs: 9 harriers and
Joey the wonder dachshund.  My harriers are: Comet (11), Joy (8), Sugar (6),
Cheerful (5), Coda (4), Halle (2), Henry & Snickers (2), and Chet (1).

We had cool weather here this weekend. I finished painting my office and
started masking off the master bathroom. I've been taking down personal
pictures and putting away knick-knacks; we are preparing to sell our home.

I sent Snickers over to some dog shows in Texas, looking for the elusive
3-point major to complete her AKC Championship. The last time she was
shown was 11 months ago. There have been no major opportunities for
her in our area in all this time. (A major means she has to beat at least 3
other harriers of the same gender at one dog show; harriers are an extremely
rare breed so opportunities are infrequent.) Anyhow, she did it! She won
the very first day. She is Champion number 15 for Comet, as her sire, and
number 6 for Joy, her mother. ALL of the puppies in that litter have titles now.
I am proud of them all. I will drive up to Birmingham later this afternoon to
pick her up!

I found some faucets and light fixtures on the Lowes website that I think
I will order to put in the master bath ... DIY.  I've watched enough home
improvement shows on TV that I think I can do it. Hopefully they will arrive
and I can get them done by the end of the week. I think I did well, 2 sink
faucets and two vanity light fixtures for under $250 and free shipping!

In other news, I had a mamogram about 10 days ago. I did it as a required
preparation for a reduction surgery. Apparently, the radiologist is unhappy
with something they saw or can't see. I am scheduled for an ultrasound
for them to have a second look at 8:20 this morning. It's been a long weekend
of anticipation, thinking about it. I know ultrasounds are no big deal but the
not-knowing sure stinks.

Hope you had a good weekend and will have a great week!

Turdle here in Switzerland with Jess the 9 year old Notta Hound, Zubil and Killjoy the almost 1 year old guinea pigs, and Rose, Zali and Zmoof the cats ranging in age from 1.5 years to about 2.5 years.

It's been a rough weekend for us. We had to put Kuh to sleep due to epilepsy. We did what we could to try to nurse him through and see if we could get him past it but he just kept having seizures, had gone blind, and had very minimal reflexes and it was in his best interest to put him to sleep. He wasn't even a year old.

Miss Killjoy is doing better but still not eating on her own. She's active and seems happy.. She'll chew on her house or objects sitting in the couch but won't actually eat her food. It's a bit frustrating.

Tomorrow we are (rather impulsively) going to go look at a pair of 9 week old rabbits. They're either a male and a female or two males.. Dunno wether I'll bring them home or not but I've had rabbits for so long that it just doesn't seem right to have an empty pen.

Turdle

Sue,  I have been through an ultra sound, a breast biopie, and had breast tissue removed (a large piece, just hard breast tissue).  I, like you, am large breasted and my gyne wants me to have a reduction, I'm just too much of a chicken to go through with it after having my breast surgery.  I wish you luck and hope it's just hard breast tissue they find which is common in older women. <-that is what the doctor told me.  One of the fun facts about getting older (but hopefully wiser).

Well, I have a 2" cyst (and several smaller cysts) on the right side and a large fibroid adenoma on the left. Nothing looks cancerous but the biopsies will tell for sure. I am scheduled for surgery on the 29th for reduction, which should take care of the 2" cyst. The surgeon and radiologist want to confer about whether the fibroid will be adressed, considering (of course) the results of the biopsy for it.

It's been a LONG day. I still have to drive up to pick up Snickie later today. It'll be good to have her home. It is hard to say who misses her most, our daughter Allison or Henry. They will both be THRILLED to have her home though!

Oh Turdle!  I am so sorry to hear about Kuh!  I know how much you loved him and he was such a cool rabbit!

Please let us know how Killjoy is doing. It's so frustrating when they eat things other than food but won't touch their food. I have had dogs that would only eat treats but not food ... but I figure ANYthing with calories (provided it's not poisonous or dangerous) is better than nothing.

I know how you feel about looking at babies so soon after losing one, especially a young one like Kuh. I haven't had the heart to look at another boxer yet. I know I will get another one some day but I am just not ready for a new one and Gracie died several months ago now. I'm not in a financial situation to take one or any foster dogs right now either.

Hang in there! We're thinking about you!
