Happy Hump Day everyone!  Hope your week has gone well so far.  Yesterday is was around 85 degrees.  Today it's supposed to be 64 and super windy.  Go Figure!

I have always liked Halloween because I can dress up the dogs - LOL!  When my sister's kids were younger, I would dress up Emmy and then later Spencer and go trick or treating with them and my sister.  I really enjoyed doing that!  I also dress up Spencer (now Buzz) for the Oct. Greyhound meet 'n greet.  Greyhounds are so easy to dress up because they'll tolerate just about anything.  These past few years I haven't really done much with them because my sister's kids are too old now for trick or treating.  Occasionally I will go to a block party my sister and BIL put together on Halloween but it's not the same.  I might go this year since Halloween is on a Sat.  All 3 dogs have their special Halloween collars on even if I don't do anything with them - LOL!

So the Question of the Week is:  Have you ever celebrated Halloween with your dogs in any fashion?

Dressing Charley and Casey up would probably be a bad idea, LOL. Charley wouldn't like it and Casey has chewed himself out of 9 harnesses, so goodness knows what he'd do to a costume!

They will get some extra treats though :)

I got a pumpkin outfit for Gracie, our boxer, a couple of years ago. She was really cute in it.

As a rule, my harriers hate clothing/costumes so I can only put them in one while they are under constant supervision or risk them consuming it!  I have a fantasy of dressing Snickers in a Harlequin-design Clown costume ... purple, gold and green like Mardi-Gras colours, complete with pom poms down the front. She has
the most amazing markings that would just be perfect for it. Her face is mostly white with brown patches over her eyes and ears and very dramatic black eye rims and lashes over brown (not black) eyes ... so she looks like she's wearing clown make-up already.  Haven't found anything similar to what my dream
costume is so she doesn't have one but if I ever do stumble on it, it's MINE!

I haven't tried putting Joey in a costume yet. I will probably have to watch that he doesn't chew it, depending on what it is, but he would probably wear one okay. Finding costumes for a dachshund is a lot easier than for a harrier. There is always
a bigger selection for smaller dogs for some reason.

I'm not trick or treating this year. The girls will go down to the Fall Festival/hot dog cook out at the church on Saturday. It's suppose to rain so it may be a wash out. With the surgery just being yesterday, other than maybe being a Mummy, I just can't imagine what I could comfortably dress as and I'm not really suppose to be up and about that much. It's going to be hard. I'm thankful that my girls are older so I don't feel quite like I'm robbing them of a holiday since they will go see their friends and church family and still be celebrating.

Let Brett take care of the girls for the Fall Festival so you can just relax!

I can imagine a Harlequin outfit on Snickers - it would be beautiful!  Maybe next year you can find something for her and/or Joey and take them to the Fall Festival!
